65 year old male patient came in with the complaint of ‘chipped’ teeth. He was frustrated that that he needed to get bondings on them regularly as they would chip off only after a few months of being done.
A full analysis of his bite and esthetics was done and a diagnosis was made. A treatment plan was created based on this diagnosis. Porcelain crowns were placed on his front teeth after a bite adjustment was done.
This was a few years ago. The patient is thrilled with his new smile and has not had a single ‘chipping’ incident. His new smile brought about a whole new attitude and confidence level.
This patient is a vibrant, outgoing and successful professional woman. However, she did not feel that her smile reflected who she was.
Her complaint was that her front teeth kept chipping and all fillings done to fix that by her previous dentist would chip off as well. She also did not like the color of her teeth.
After a full evaluation of her bite and esthetics, a plan was made for her smile. Her bite had to be corrected and after taking care of some gum disease issues, a new bite and esthetic smile was created. She has had this smile for almost 5 years at this point and wonders why she waited as long as she did to have a healthy and beautiful smile.
